Description

A wonderful, home-from-home on the outskirts of Trinidad, where Kenia and her family live. The entire farm is quirky, eclectic and full of character, so typically Cuban.

Accommodation

The newer areas of the house mostly in modern, polished concrete have been created with care and look wonderful in contrast to the traditional, colonial features. The lower gardens have stables housing beautiful horses and the upper garden has a large, infinity pool. Kenia is a wonderful cook and uses fresh produce from her market garden.

There are six rooms in total but none are the same. Some are in the main farm house so are colonial in decor, while the newer rooms are semi-detached and close to the garden or kitchen. All of the rooms have air-conditioning (a bit noisy), a fridge, and a private bathroom (although some have an outside element).

Our comments

A wonderful homely base from which to explore all that Trinidad has to offer either on foot, by car or horse. Kenia will prepare lovely picnic lunches and supper on request.

Finca Kenia (or La Casona, its preferred name) was another excellent place to stay - if in a part of Trinidad that looked quite daunting - and the breakfasts and service were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the bathroom open to the elements. - JF&PW (February 2024)
