Description

Traditional Ecuadorian hacienda, at the foothills of Rumiñahui Volcano, 4km from Cotopaxi National Park. The hacienda has 4,500 hectares of land and stunning views. The restaurant is cosy and serves good homely Ecuadorian food.

Activities

The hacienda offers many activities such as mountain biking, zip-lining, a high wire course, hiking and riding (extra cost).

Accommodation

The suite has an ensuite bathroom and fireplace.

Hacienda El Porvenir has great charm and lovely staff. The altitude can clearly be a problem for some but we had a great time. We went up as far as the car park on Cotopaxi on the one clear morning and had a 2-hour ride in the clouds on the second day. - RS (January 2017)

El Porvenir was wonderfully remote but a little too high for us. We simply hadn?t anticipated the effect on each of us of being at nearly 12,000 ft. We had a great time up there, and wandering around Cotapaxi National Park but frankly were quite relieved to get to a slightly lower altitude after a couple of days. - DS (February 2016)

Due to the height of El Porvenir it can be quite cold so I was pleased that that the fire was lit in the charming, large, ensuite room you had reserved. I managed to climb up to the base camp at Cotopaxi, it is sobering to see the power of a volcano and important to be accompanied by good local guides. - JC (March 2009)

The Hacienda El Porvenir was beautiful. It was in a stunning location, although Cotopaxi remained a bit hidden whilst we were there. We were very well fed and well looked after. Our only complaint there was it was too cold. - SH (February 2009)
