Office news

Last year our team expanded as we welcomed Michael and Hayley to Last Frontiers. Both bring extensive experience of the travel industry and will shortly be returning to Latin America - Michael to Argentina and Hayley to Costa Rica.

We'll be at the Destinations Travel Show at Olympia London from 29 January to 1 February. It's always nice to see past clients so if you’re planning a visit or starting to think about future travels please do come and say hello at stand AC68. If you'd like a free ticket please let us know.

Lizzy in Argentina

CapybaraCapybara

Lizzy took advantage of being in Buenos Aires to travel to the Esteros del Iberá, the second largest wetland area in the world. Although it requires a little extra effort to reach, the rewards are exceptional: outstanding birdlife, an abundance of wildlife, and the region can be combined with a visit to the spectacular Iguazu Falls. Phil in northern Peru

KuelapKuelap

The area of northern Peru around Chachapoyas remains one of the country’s most overlooked regions, yet it offers dramatic scenery, high Andean peaks, and remarkable pre-Inca sites including the impressive Kuélap fortress. Phil had the chance to explore this special part of Peru while attending a trade show last year, and came away inspired by its history and landscapes.

Your favourite hotels

Cerro GuidoCerro Guido

We really appreciate all the feedback we get from our clients. During the last 2 years these 3 properties consistently received great reviews from you:

Cerro Guido, just on the edge of Torres del Paine National Park (Chile)

“We have no words good enough for Estancia Cerro Guido. Everything was perfect. We were singing your praises for putting us there rather than in the park and we had a wonderful time. Unbelievable food, pisco sours, wine, service, views from the dining room.. Probably the nicest place we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in some lovely ones.”

The IntegrityThe Integrity

The yacht Integrity in the Galapagos (Ecuador)

“The Galapagos was extraordinary. Integrity proved to be a great boat, and with only 9 guests seemed even more luxurious. The biggest win was in getting Greg Estes as our guide. As I’m sure you know, he is ‘Galapagos royalty’ along with his wife and there really is nothing he doesn’t know about the islands, their history, Darwin and everything on or around the islands.”

EoloEolo

Eolo, near the Perito Moreno glacier in southern Patagonia (Argentina)

“The stand-out hotel of a great holiday was Eolo, amazing food, great guides. We'd love to go back.”

“I just can't speak highly enough about this wonderful hotel! Its location is stunning - set in an elevated position overlooking the valley and lake. We booked the corner suite that just had the most picturesque views. We could have just sat in the armchairs and looked at the view all day long as it was constantly changing with the light and the animals.”

News from Latin America

Rooftops of CartagenaRooftops of Cartagena

Series 3 of the so-called 'celebrity' version of Race Across the World took place in Central America and Michael wrote some notes on the practicalities of getting to the places they visited as it progressed:

And for those of you glued to The Night Manager I have started to do the same. Much of the filming so far has taken place in Colombia and the scenery is spectacular (their choice of hotels isn't bad either..).

As ever, if we can help you with any travel plans, please get in touch.

With best wishes from us all

Ed

We had the time of our lives and I had no idea Brazil was so special! Iguaçu particularly blew us away and the Pantanal was fabulous too. Rio was huge fun and the carnival seats were fantastic - right in the middle by the judges so we enjoyed all the special antics for them. Many thanks again, you did us proud.” - D&NC February 2025
