Location

Uaxactún (Petén and the North, Guatemala)

Description

In a quiet spot on the edge of the village of Uaxactún and just a 5 minute walk from Uaxactún ruins. The campsite is well cared for with a simple pathway leading to each individual tent. All meals are cooked and hosted by a local family from the village.

Activities

Guided tour of the village and visit to the local school (dependent on term time), Uaxactún ruins and Tikal (just 40 minutes away). Star gazing at night is a must!

Accommodation

A small group of sturdy canvas tents, each has its own deck complete with camping chairs. Inside each tent there are 2 small single camp beds with a side table and lamp in between. The tents are small but comfortable for a 1 or 2 night stay. There is a shared block with showers and toilets at one end of the site.
