Description

A chic beach-front hotel overlooking Papagayo Bay that offers barefoot luxury with personalised service. This boutique hotel was designed by one of Costa Rica's most iconic architects, Ronald Zurcher and features a large pool, gym and spa. There are two restaurants, Matiss and Makoko, with unique menus that are inspried by local cuisine.

Activities

Snorkelling equipment, kayaks and bikes are available for guests to use. Many activities and tours can be arranged at the hotel (at extra cost) such as whale and dolphin watching, fishing, paddle boarding, zip-lining, canopy experiences, yoga and more. El Coco is 15 minutes away and is a lively beachside town with many bars, shops and restaurants.

Accommodation

85 rooms, some of which have a view towards the mangroves. The elegantly decorated suites have a cosy living area, and some have a balcony.

After the initial problems with our room change the manager was very good and sorted it all out very quickly. As a place to have a few days ‘downtime’ El Mangroove was perfect and five nights was just right. - SJ (March 2024)
