Description

A mountain lodge at 3,487m 6km from the northern entrance to Cotopaxi National Park, surrounded by some major peaks and offering spectacular views towards the Cotopaxi volcano. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere, good food and is an excellent base for riding and hiking in the park.

Accommodation

Rooms are all comfortable with a rustic feel and have private bathrooms and a wood-burning stove for heating. There is a large suite, 6 standard rooms with either garden or mountain view, and some family units: two bedrooms sharing a bathroom and a small sitting area with stove.

Client comments and reviews

The cooking was especially good at Hosteria Chilcabamba, in spite of its remoteness and altitude. They also arranged for a local farmer/trout breeder to guide me for four hours on the land north of Cotopaxi. - DP (January 2014)
