Description

The UK Foreign Office advise against all but essential travel to Cuyabeno region of Ecuador, which means sales of Secoya are suspended.

A community-run lodge, three hours north-east of Coca and just outside the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, and perfect for those wanting to experience the life of one of Ecuador's indigenous groups. The lodge is run by the native Secoya people, known as the 'magicians of the rainforest'. Access is by light aircraft to Coca, followed by road a transfer to Puerto Gregorio, before a motorized canoe transfer to the lodge.

Activities

Nature walks, bird watching, kayaking and the opportunity to observe the local customs and daily lives of the Secoya people.

Accommodation

Three standard cabins and one family cabin all with palm-thatched roofs and private facilities. No electricity, but candles are provided.
