Itinerary summary
East Falkland
Day 1: On arrival at Mount Pleasant airport you will be met and driven to Darwin for an overnight stay, stopping en-route at battlefield sites, including the Argentine cemetery.
Carcass Island
Days 2-3: Board a small 10-seater FIGAS (Falkland Island Government Air Service) flight to Carcass Island, West Falkland, where you stay two nights. This island is beautiful, with a high ridge and many other areas to explore. You will visit a Gentoo penguin colony, see elephant seals, and do a full day's boat excursion across to West Point Island to see black-browed albatrosses. You may even see dolphins and whales from the boat.
Sea Lion Island
Days 4-5: Board another short flight to East Falkland and small Sea Lion Island for a two night stay. There are rockhopper, Gentoo and Magellanic penguin colonies, inland lakes, elephant seals and sea lions. Orcas are also often spotted offshore.
Stanley
Days 6-7: Take the short flight to Stanley where you will spend your final two nights. Stanley is a small town, easily explored on foot and has an interesting museum. A full day excursion out to Volunteer Point, the worlds most accessible king penguin colony, is an unforgettable experience.
