The Cayes image

To the west of Havana is Cayo Levisa, a tiny island, only accessible by boat, and is perfect for those looking to get away from it all. Further south María La Gorda offers excellent diving but is not well developed. Further east are the more established cayes, such as Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Guillermo, which are connected to the mainland by road. It is also possible to fly there from Havana.

Our preferred accommodation

    Cayo Levisa

    Beach hotel - Cayo Levisa
Temporarily closed September 2019 This small, simple hotel is the only lodging on this island. There is little to do but it is great for relaxing and enjoying the Cuban sun. The beach is long with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas for shade, and the sea is warm.
  • Melia Buenavista image

    Melia Buenavista

Beach hotel - Cayo Santa Maria
An adults only all-inclusive resort, which is tastefully decorated and has excellent facilities. The resort is further away from the other hotels on the cayo giving guests extra privacy.
  • Melia Cayo Guillermo image

    Melia Cayo Guillermo

    Beach hotel - Cayo Guillermo
Low-rise all-inclusive resort hotel on the small island of Cayo Guillermo. Spacious grounds lead on to a beautiful white sandy beach. Choice of restaurants (buffet and à la carte) and 3 bars.
  • Villa Las Brujas image

    Villa Las Brujas

Beach hotel - Cayo Las Brujas
A lovely small hotel next to a beautiful beach, separated by mangroves. The hotel is reached by a causeway from the mainland and there is only one hotel on this cayo. There is no pool but there is a jacuzzi.
