It was originally built on an old landmark of the Camino Real and then became part of the Estancia Catalina until the Jesuits were expelled from America. This turn of the century Renaissance house is ideally situated close to the small town of Gualeguay and provides a relaxing atmosphere away from the capital. The house itself is well decorated with a mix of classic and modern art and has a very comfortable living room for guests. The main house is steeped in family history with many references to the days of the Jesuits who first organised farming in the area before they were forced to leave quite suddenly in 1769. A small family run estancia in the Ongamira valley that has been owned by the family for several generations. The property is 500 hectares with cattle, poultry a wonderful orchard and vegetable garden. The house is comfortable with many original furnishings, antique furniture and much history. The sitting room is lovely and cosy, with an open fireplace, and the dining room is in part of the Chapel of St Joseph, built in 1597 by the Spaniards as part of the effort to colonise the Indian tribes of the region.
