Entre Hielos Lodge
Location
Caleta Tortel (Southern Carretera Austral, Chile)
Description
A lovely, rustic, family-run guest house halfway up a hillside overlooking the Tortel bay. Stylishly furnished, it is linked to the rest of the village by its own wooden walkway and blends in with its environment. At the heart of the lodge is an open plan living room, dining room and kitchen all designed around the fireplace where guests can sit and relax.
Activities
Boat trips into the fjord (which is the estuary for the Baker river) and walking in the mountains.
Accommodation
There are only 6 rooms, simple, modern but tastefully put together. Three have partial views of the bay through the surrounding trees.
Our comments
Simple, rustic but charming completely in keeping with the village. The owners couldn't do more to look after you.
Client comments and reviews
We really enjoyed Tortel and liked the hotel, though we found the food quite expensive so ate elsewhere. - CS (January 2024)
What a great place to stay even though we couldn?t have a pisco sour on the first night as they had run out of lemons!! We liked the way everyone sat down to dine at the one dining table and on both nights we had great conversation. The food was excellent. Maria and her staff couldn?t have been more welcoming and she even helped organise our boat trip to the Island of the Dead (which was captained by her husband!) - PH (February 2015)
