Hacienca Venecia

Manizales (The coffee region, Colombia)

A traditional coffee finca about 40 minutes from Manizales which sits at 1,500m. The main house is a traditional period building which dates back to the late 19th century and has remained in the same family for over 120 years. It is one of the largest coffee haciendas in the region and sits in a valley where the River Claro runs through mountains carpeted in coffee plantations. The well-kept gardens attract an abundance of birdlife, there is lovely outdoor pool, a veranda and there are a number of walking trails around the property and through the surrounding plantations.

Coffee plantation tours, a cacao tour and a visit to the small rum distillery can all be organised at the hacienda.

Rooms are split into two accommodation areas, the original main house and the coffee house, about a 20 minute walk apart and kept quite separate, each with a swimming pool and dining area. The main house has 6 rooms, all with a private bathroom, wooden floors and traditional period furnishings, and look out over a terrace to the gardens. The coffee house has 11 rooms, all with a private bathroom, a small private balcony, tiled floors and a slightly more modern feel to those in main house.
