Hato Piñero

Location

El Baúl, Cojedes (The Llanos, Venezuela)

Description

Sadly Hato Piñero is no longer open for tourism, having been expropriated by the government of Hugo Chavez.

Wildlife farm in the state of Cojedes, on the edge of the central plains, which apart from the wet-lands also has plateau and gallery forest on rolling hills, surrounded by four rivers. Here you can see an incredible diversity of wildlife that shows almost no fear for human observers.

Activities

Excursions (two per day) are in specially converted vehicles which provide an ideal viewing platform to appreciate the natural attractions, and depending on the season, boat trips are also available on the many caños, or streams, that cross the savanna. All excursions are accompanied by skilled bilingual guides, to make sure you get the most from this unique experience.

Accommodation

The accommodation is in simple but comfortable and spotless double rooms, each with its own bathroom.

Client comments and reviews

Open QuoteWe loved Hato Piñero, mainly because of the abundance of wildlife - that made it very special. It was also very beautiful. Our daughter rode several times and the staff were very friendly and helpful.Close Quote - MB (February 2010)
Open QuoteWe had a very special two and a half days here. We loved the Hato, and were given some special treatment by the new farm manager, David Jones, who spent a great deal of time with us. It was an excellent experience.Close Quote - HS (October 2008)
