Belmond Copacabana Palace
Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
This iconic luxury property (owned by Belmond, formerly Orient-Express), steps away from Copacabana beach, opened in 1923 and has first class service. There is a large heated swimming pool, spa, tennis court, the renowned Cipriani restaurant, a pan-Asian restaurant (the vision of celebrity chef Ken Hom), casual pool-side restaurant and piano bar.
The hotel has a prime position on Copacabana beach and is within easy reach of Corcovado and Sugar Loaf mountains, the botanic gardens, downtown Rio, and the artistic heart of Rio, Santa Teresa.
Rooms are either in the main building or the Tower, with city view, pool view or beach view, and some have a balcony. All are comfortable with period furniture, TV, air-conditioning, safe and private bathroom. The 7 penthouse suites have a separate living area and balcony with fabulous views, and they share access to a rooftop pool.
Client comments and reviews
The hotel is superbly situated right on the beach at Copacabana. Great rooms and very good service. There are three restaurants, the main restaurant which we used for breakfast and two others (Asian and Italian). We ate in both and although the food was good they were both a little pretentious and expensive in comparison with restaurants outside the hotel. - RP (November 2019)
The Copacabana Palace hotel was fantastic. - NW (June 2019)
We had a double upgrade at Copacabana Palace to a wonderful suite and I could actually spend the rest of my life there. We both thought it was the best hotel of the holiday. - CL (March 2008)
